This old commercial for Apple's portable computer stars Venantino Venantini (aka Vernon Vernons), who played numerous supporting roles in italian movies. He's probably most famous for drilling a hole into poor Giovanni Lombardo Radice's head in The city of the living dead (1980, Paura nella città dei morti viventi).
Although he was for me one of the first recognizable faces in italian genre cinema, he never made much of an impression. But in this commercial he's stylish and charismatic and I can't shake the feeling that most movies wasted his talents.

He was also in a UK tv ad for Italian spreadable butter a couple of years back, can't remember the name now though.
Great new blog as well, looking forward to more posts.
Thanks Stephen.
Ha ha spreadable butter... I googled it but couldn't find anything.
I'm wondering if Venantino maybe had a carreer on Italian stage...
